What they're saying

At least once a year, we open our risers to women in the community to join us for an eight-week program to learn more about barbershop music and our chorus.  This year, we had a dozen women join us for a Patriotic summer sesson which concluded with a performance called "Let Freedom Ring".  Here's what "one of the "Summer Singers" had to say about her experience:

" I wanted to thank you for allowing me to  sing with your group. I absolutely enjoyed the rehearsals and the concert. What a great opporutnity to sing with a group that is dedicated about their singing and yet have alot of fun at the same time.  I will tell you the first time I went to rehearsal everyone coming in the door had a big smile on their face.  By the second week I realized that all the smiling was from genuine love for music and commeraderie. I went home after rehearsals with a renewed energy.  There can''t be a great group without a great leader. I am amazed at the way Linda Kelly is able to conduct all those voices . "With a wave of a hand'" she can get the group to do anything! And she is able to do it with humor.  She is hysterical... able to crack a joke with one breathe and then it's back to business with the next.  Thank you again for the wonderful and very fullfilling opportunity to sing with your group.I look forward to seeing one of your upcomong performances."
Paula Luna,  Summer Singer 2009

Listen to what a few chorus members from around the country have to say about being in organizations like ours:

“I enjoy the fun and fellowship of the ladies, and the beautiful music. Many of the members in my group I have known for years and feel comfortable singing with them. I consider my time with them to be much needed therapy!”
Robin Smith, Tri City Sound Chorus

“I am so happy to have found Sweet Adelines and am telling all my sisters about the fun we have and the lovely ladies I have met so far.”

Cindy Phair, Suncoast Harmony Chapter

“I wish I had done it 20 years ago.”
Rosemary Trimpe, Grand Rapids Chorus

“I have made so many wonderful new friends and the music runs through my head 24/7.“
Carole Ann Richards, Cincinnati Sound Chorus

”Singing is the best therapy for lifting spirits. The music creates a positive healing flow of energy from one person to another and it is a very powerful tool in creating stable mental and physical health. Music is known to reduce stress and balance the spirit.”
Susan Swertfager, South Valley Sound Chorus

“I'm a part of an awesome group of ladies. They work really hard at each rehearsal, but they have so much fun at the same time.”
Patti Bade, Spirit of Harmony Chorus
